... you haven’t heard THAT song!

Okay, it’s almost New Year’s Eve and I am slightly drunk and trying not to make too many typos, but what the F*CK, and hell, this is a severe issue!

Hmm, I am ... listening! To what? Well, I call it ... MUSIC! And ... BLISS!

So, today I share with you:

Have you ever ... listenend to ...

The Hanging Key

by

NUMB

?

It is from their self-titled debut album… recorded 1986/87. Well, I always was (and still am) a huge admirer of the works of SKINNY PUPPY. Their complexity and innovation is (almost) unequalled, but then you hear some tracks on this goddamn NUMB album and they were ... just equally good ...

The Hanging Key ...

... is the definition of ... BEAUTIFUL NOISE! i do not know where all those amazing sounds come from - but they come ... and they vanish into nihil again ... not to describe, but to experience!

And once you are at it and have finished this, go ahead with Blue Light, Black Candle ... and end up in a cacophony of leading the sheep to bestiality.

Unfortunately NUMB not only became numb themselves but also meaningless, but okay there is so much more to ... taste.

Happy New Year, my dear!

So the young lady has been seduced by Mr. Prosecco - again? Oh well, not to worry, I’m sure he was gentle.

I must admit though that this song is something special indeed. I discovered it on the “New Life - 13 Years of Electronic Lust” sampler which BTW should be mentioned as a fine collection of EBM you can still listen to today.

As the first day of the year is as good a day as any to embarass oneself, now as this CD came out not long before Titanic not only hit that iceberg but also a large number of wide screens all over the world, I always thought of it as the perfect background track for those scenes with all those corpses floating in the water.

Anybody else thinks Titanic could have done with a better, more contemporary and more industrial soundtrack? I mean it’s been done in other movies like Plunkett & Mcleane or Marie Antoinette which hit German telly only a couple of days ago…

Oh where’s me manners? Happy New Year everybody!!

Today not under alcohol influence but still thinking this can be a nice thread:

So today, I think one of my all-time favourite tracks:

Arddyledog Ganu

by

TEST DEPT. & BRITH GOF

from their 1989 album “Gododdin”. Theatrical performance, martial, powerful with interesting historical background (“Soundtrack to the performances of a dramatisation of the annihilation of a small Celtic army by the invading Angles at Catraeth in 600 A.D.”). Manly male vocals, mesmerizing female vocals, brilliant percussion performance, traditional instruments, and .... grief.

This everyone should have heard at least once in his/her lifetime.
