Dear friends,
just a message to share with you a great discover about our favourite band: ELEVEN POND !!!
I contacted with our friend in San Francisco: mr. “Goutroy”, to contrast the main information and soon could listen the record found, udpated in their blog: http://goutroy.blogspot.com/

This is the message I wrote him:

Dear Goutroy,
I contact because I made a great discover related to our favourite band ELEVEN POND.
Some months ago you shared in your excellent blog a post ELEVEN POND record:
POND “Fate / Bullets”... I found a copy and I love for sure !!! I just upload to Discogs.

These last weeks I’m reorganizing my collection thanks to the great database that is DISCOGS, they still lack many records to upload and I go collaborating in what I can going up some. In this work I added a 12” record that was in my collection from toward many many years called RED VIOLET RED (before ELEVEN POND LP was known or had it in my collection).
Let us notice the sound was similar to ELEVEN POND, same cover type made by hand, limited and numbered, fact in US and suddenly I saw that the cover was signed by J. Gallea !!!!!!!?????, quickly came me to mind Jeff’s Gallea of ELEVEN POND!!! then I checked the correspondence address that leave in the back-sleeve and was exact to the one that leave in the inner-sleeve of ELEVEN POND’s record ....... and… bingo!!!
I understood that RED VIOLET RED was a kind pre-ELEVEN POND release.
Jeff Gallea made this record with other musicians not on later ELEVEN POND record but the sound is really similar and it advances the sound that will have the later record without a doubt.
This was very touching for my and I wanted to share that information with you and with the other collectors!!!

The timing for this great band was:

RED VIOLET RED “Candy Cane / 12 Miles Of Sky” 12” (Game Hen Records, US 1985) limited to 300 hand numbered copies.

ELEVEN POND “Bas Relief” LP (US, 1986) limited to 500 hand numbered copies.

POND “Fate / Bullets” 12” (Metamerism, MTA 001 EP, US 1988) limited to 1000 hand numbered copies.

ELEVEN POND “Bas Relief” LP re-issue (Dark Entries, DE-001, US 2009) limited to 500 hand numbered copies.

I find it exactly, logical and consequent that all the information will contained in the same place and for that I sent all the links with pictures for the record ... plus the mp3’s for RED VIOLET RED (more synth-pop oriented but really amazing!!!).

some “family” pictures:

OK ...that’s all ... I hope you will enjoy the RED VIOLET RED tracks soon in mr. Goutroy’s blog, that will make the work this week.
