ooh, classic. Love the track, love the dress sense. Love the US 12” mix, which has taken out most of the music…

there used to be a longer version of this clip on youtube, with a short interview in German, worth searching for.

normally i am not rude at all, but this is a video which i have always wished i had never seen .... or can you assign this great music to those guys ?

i always wondered about the left guy jumping and waving hands, he must be having some little earphones on giving him the funniest tunes ... he cannot be dancing to “You” .... and then the right guy, this must be the worst case of someone trying so hard to look cool (and failing) ... oh boys ... shut off the screen, erase those bad images and let the vinyl do the talking….

i am sorry, not meant to offend someone at all, but this is horrible.

Great sense of style, these young Norwegians, and no doubt about it.

Regarding the overactive one, I think it must have been the pleasure of hearing great music, then the joy of realising it’s his own music, and then the flash of euphoria that he even made it on camera with it.

Anyways, they must have been barely 18+ and this was the 80s. Anybody registered here old enough at the time to develop a style of their own they are not kinda embarressed of today? For me it was a barret BEFORE that Glasstiger video and Prince’s song. But no I won’t post a pic, but thank you so much for asking.

So thumbs up for the best band to emerge from Hamburg, Norway.

Only one reply to a grotesque claim like that, namely:

Styles change.
Style doesn’t.

Already ten seconds in, you see that they even can mime as badly as that motley crew from the harbour of hamburg…

Thanks for reminding me, I loved this way back in 1986… wow I’m getting old.  :?

Many thanks S., finally someone has spoken it out and it makes me very very happy as I have so oftenly complaint myself about it, but what can a keyboarder that actually never learnt to play do apart from concentrating on the playing ? so it is up to the front man, but then would you wanna change a person just to satsify some third party ? No, I don’t think so. Having said that, i agree we are static and boring and i assume they were hip and cool. Ya, they seemed to like what they were doing, so it is all fine.

... I am not taking lessons from them though, I never will.

Hmm, I somewhat knew that might get misinterpreted. I was rather referring to the fact that there was some incertainty about the origin of the band in Germany when “You” hit the charts and the band was rumored to be Norwegian. Now there’s Norwegians speaking perfect German and a great sense of style for you.

Talking style, I just got sent this great pic of a band from Leigthon Buzzard, Germany, and thought I had to share it with you:

Hmm,

never liked them after they got that new vocalist Limahl in and changed their name… wink

As for Boytronic and their “Norwegian” rumour, how could I know? They certainly weren’t rumoured to be Norwegian in Norway.

And yet another successful attempt to create confusion :D

As I said, they’re from Hamburg, Norway, now I wrote the above text myself but had George W. help me on the geography bit. The song was a monster hit over here, BTW.

I kinda agree with Marc that it most likely works better without the video when heard for the first time, though.

BB, you might want to check out their first album, The Working Model, and possibly their second, The Continental (“Hold On” being the hit single on that one). Boytronic are still making music to this very day.

Thanks herr Falck i’ll check it out.
I’m sure you are correct about them being from Norway but just to throw some more dust around in this clip from them on German TV they are being introduced as coming from “Gross Britanien” .. woeha !

here’s the link just for the intro… (never mind the song)
