Never heard of that GB bit, hmmm, and not sure I understand why there was even more fuzz about their origin (mind you, a lot more people apologised for being German in those days). Maybe their management wanted to position them as far apart as possible from death-ridden NDW in 1983? They started out singing in German though being called Kapitän Sehnsucht (Captain Desire). Now how corny is that?
However when Alphaville came along not much later, everybody knew those guys were from Münster (having just moved there from Berlin, boy, what a strange career move).
