Nope, we’re watching “Minimal Wave - The Troll Wars”  :D

But don’t worry, it should only last another year or two until all the ATM records have sold out.

Now hang on, is it just me old leg, or is there a Troll-Machine post on its way….  8)

I envy you! This endless discussion, and then you come along and grab the last word, just like that. But it’s a fair cop.

There isn’t much to be added to the discussion, really; Stephen Obscure supports Stephen Obscure’s business practices, he doesn’t understand or care that no one else does, and we’re powerless to stop him. End of story. But Stephen Obscure can’t force me to like his record label even one little bit!

Earlier this week the second obscure identities release broke all previous sales records at $68.89.

I have heard nothing but praise for this release and that price alone illustrates its
serious desiribility.

There are many people supporting obscure identities and I respect all those people very much.

Also, word on the street is that All the Madmen are about to take over the European mainland.

Are you ready for ...3 ?

Its coming, and guess what?

No one has it wink

Stephen,
obscure identities

p.s. I heard “Living is a Nightmare” played at the Frank Alpine Halloween show between
the Violet Tremors set, and Frank Alpine set.  I also heard the All the Madmen track “On the Run”
on KXLU radio a few weeks ago.

The troll comes stumbling out of its cave!

“I have heard nothing but praise for this release and that price alone illustrates its

That’s the problem with you; no matter what anyone says, you only hear what you want to hear. I guess there isn’t much anyone can do to help you.

Bjakk,

You call me a troll?!

You joined this forum specifically to talk about me, my band, and my record label and as I can see nothing else.  All your posts are basically just hate directed towards me, and you have yet to let anyone know who you are.

You say I only hear what I want to hear?

I stated that my second release sold for almost $70 directly after you stated no one understands my business practices.

So who only hears what they want to hear?

At this point everyone understands my business.  I have made it overtly clear in both my ebay listings and my responses on this forum.

That price is a statement by minimal synth collectors about obscure identities.

I can hear it very clear.  Can you?

Pro-one,

Anyone that loves amazing very rare minimal synth should be happy about all the obscure identities sales because the more stuff sells for the sooner I will be releasing more and more never before heard minimal synth records.  The collectors that support obscure identitites are only going to enrich their minimal synth collections by doing so. The people on this forum that hate on the label are not doing anything for anyone except wasting their own time, and the people reading this forums time.  I am not going to change my record label for anyone, and if someone doesn’t want to support the release of great minimal synth records then that is their issue.

That’s lovely logic: If I citicize Stephen Obscure, I am a hater, and that’s bad. That’s the world according to Stephen Obscure: Good people like Stephen Obscure, bad people hate him. Try getting criticism through to a person who has stuffed that much pink cotton wool in his ears!

I will not ever get through to Stephen Obscure. He will continue to damage the collectors’ market with these useless, overpriced, low-quality, ridiculous records, he will continue to be plum proud of it, and he will never understand why anyone would hate his silly little label. (Remastering? Perish the thought!) But the collectors’ market is not unlimited, too many artificial rarities with poor sound and ugly cover design, and people lose interest. If pointing that out makes my a hater, so be it.

Bjakk,

I take everything you have posted on this forum directed towards me clearly as your own self loathing based on jealousy.

Do you understand that?

Is that clear to you?

You are jealous of me, my band, and my record label because you hate yourself.

Every single post you make screams that fact over and over again.

Also, seeing as you choose to remain anonymous all your posts come across as
an exemplification of extreme cowardice.
I am sorry you have such serious personal issues, but belligerently trying to berate someone elses creativity, and business is not going to solve them.

So, if you’re both finished proving each others points, can we give the matter a rest now?

You’re on a music forum. DIY psycho-analysis, while an interesting topic per se, is not what the MW forum is for. It’s bound to have a forum of its own somewhere else on the www, feel free to google it if you like.

Thanks

Thanks Oystein grin

Here is a quote from the 3rd page of this thread about the All the Madmen LP Do You Hear the Sirens Calling on obscure identities 1980.

“Oh, the release is nice” (Bjakk)

Thanks Bjakk wink

Maybe that is why it has 5 stars on discogs, and a ton of people watching it every week, and it continuously sells for around $50.00.

Maybe that is why this thread has over 10,000 views.  More than any other release thread on this forum.

There are 5 blue copies left.

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks,
Stephen

mr.obscure… i’m not sure why it is you feel the need to keep justifying the All the Madmen material… i have not read the whole thread, but i’ve read enough of it, and i don’t recall anyone criticizing the musical content of the ATMM lp. personally i like what i’ve heard, and if it had been released on Genetic, AnnaLogue, Dark Entries, Minimal Wave, or probably any other label really, i’d likely have bought the LP already. it seems that most people on here feel the same way. you keep talking about how the minimal synth fans approve of your release, as though the people on this forum aren’t a large portion of the most involved, fanatical and informed minimal synth fans… some minimal synth fans will accept your practices, but here on this forum we have a large population of minimal synth fans who would probably like to own an ATMM lp, but who won’t own it on account of their unwillingness to support your label practices or play your Ebay game.

so if your LP continues to sell for $50+ on Ebay, perhaps the ATMM guys will have a lot more $ in their pockets than they would’ve if AnnaLogue released 300 copies for $20/ea… but is it worth it for them, knowing that a large portion of their fans / potential fans will now never own the release? i am planning to start a minimal synth night, and i will be DJing exclusively with vinyl, so i guess there will be no ATMM playing here - a missed opportunity for exposure

another point—since you are always using the Ebay sales of ATMM as an indicator of this record’s artistic worth, is it fair to say then that your Aspect Ratio tape is a failure, since it is now regularly ending with 0 bids? 10,000+ people viewing this thread and yet you only managed to sell, what, 5 copies of your tape? so do you really think the # of views that this thread has received means a high interest and demand for your product, or do you think maybe it is more akin to the heavy traffic surrounding a car wreck, that people just can’t help but stop to gawk at?

my questions, BTW, are hypothetical, ie i don’t actually care to read your inevitable know-it-all responses, especially after that absolutely mind-boggling psychobabble rant against Bjakk. that was unreal
