The BBC showed a film on Krautrock in the same series as the Synth Britannia program. Unfortunately I didn’t know of this until after it was removed from the bbc/iplayer service. Anyone know of another place this can be found. I believe it included Kraftwerk, Can, Faust etc and so could be of interest to others here.

I think for me this is even more interesting then the Synth Britannia docu.
Thanks,

yep, same here. basically I already knew everything about british synthpop before watching Synth Britannia. smile while this krautrock documentary filled a few gaps.. for example, I didn’t know about Amon Duul/Baader Meinhof konnekshn as well as Roedelius being a pimpf at the time!

hi,

a friend of mine is looking for a track from this documentary, i did not see it, so cannot comment on this at all. does anybody have a clue. thanks!
“They started with Amun Duul, and went on to other acts but they didn’t say what a certain tune was that I LOVED… it was kind of like rolling synth music and there were female vocals over it and they wern’t saying words, they were sort of humming. It was brilliant.”

Popol Vuh—“Aguirre II” perhaps? If you scroll down on the bbc4 page (link in my earlier post) you have the track listing for the documentary.
