when you could listen to 7"s in your car….

...until you go somewhere on a hot day and leave your records in the car, and all your favorite minimal synth 7"s become your favorite 7” X 2” lump of wax. 

Haven’t you heard of freezer bags for records?

I regret the good old days when bands used to play “real” live show and not DAT tape playbacks…

I think it’s not their plain fault…nowedays location’s equipment is updated so i bet they would not be any easy way to do it that old way…I remember the times of Kas Product coming back, they had to pratice a big lot, trying to keep their original sound but also make it possible like that @ the Eurokéennes festival…

I saw The Cassandra Complex about 10 years ago at a very small club with a very small crowd.  It was just the singer/keyboard player and a guitarist.  They came out and said “there are about 5 songs we want to play for you, then we will take requests.  If we have the discs for the songs you request we will play them.”  Sure enough, after the songs from whatever record they were promoting they took requests, Rodney Orphius thumbed through the case of computer discs, and was able to “play” most of the songs people wanted to hear.  It wasn’t quite live, but at least they had the option of switching the set around.  You can’t do that with a DAT!
