ever wondered what crash course in science used for their drums?  i had thought for a long time it was a casio rhythm through a distortion pedal or something… but no, its the panansonic rd 9844.  heres a picture from joseph river’s museum:

plug it in + turn it on = cardboard lamb

veeeery rare, sometimes found in the answering machine section of “thrift” stores.  we used it on “nightmare stampede” (veronica played it this week on her radio show, thanks!  ^_^)  its a song about ghost cattle

tonight im doing a show with the panasonic drum machine, supplemented by live drumming on the synsonic pads and boss dr110
