Here is the real Winner.

I’m also pretty sure that this was the last copy on ebay previously.

Oh,
Bitterness!!

8O

Oh well. It’s simply impossible to check ebay every minute of the day to check if some such bargain was not listed for sale. Give me some time and I promise I’ll get over it…

Wow, I shouldn’t like to be the one who paid an extra £1200 on top of that!

I was very upset when I saw that Buy It Now after the fact as well.

Whoever got the buy it now should definitely sell it to the under bidder.

Especially if the buy it now winner is from Norway, and lives in Germany, and already has a copy of the record :?:

That’s more of a sane price, I’d say. The lucky winner is not German…

Oystein,

Yes 3rd highest, but I don’t want to compete with 2nd highest when copy #5 shows up.

The record will probably never go for more than $1000 again though so I wouldn’t consider it to be the most expensive minimal synth record.  I don’t think that this record is a rare enough record considering that it was pressed on that Heavy Metal label.  I also heard that the record is not that good apart from the Those Attractive Magnets track.  The cover art and the name are where all the lure and appeal exists.

Jens,

So which swede started their summer with a cheap synthetic romance?

Spartak,

Revise search.

Spart,

that’s simply the bitch of automatic searches - they take slightly longer than browsing.

I’d say someone searched for new items in the “minimal” cathegory, this showed up, and that (Swedish) someone pressed buy it now before the search engine picked up on the item.

The one that went for £1275, I got an automatic email about that, but that got here two days after most people, so if the seller had picked up on the offers he’d gotten to end the auction early, it’d have been too late.

So IOW you need to stay awake :-D

This guy is on my blacklist for ever. He will not buy one record from me any more! He won my auctions several times but never wanted to pay.

Spartak,

The Stranger Station 7” is amazing, but two people I know that have the synthetic romance comp. say the Stranger Station track is not that good.  I’ve also heard a lot of unreleased tracks by them, and none of them sounded good. So as far as I know the 7” is the only great songs from them.

Actually i love the whole echoes to infinity cassette including the welcome to the night song…it’s pretty consistent imo although stranger is indeed my favorite song by him.
