Arvid Tuba is the stage name of musician Markus Arvidson, operates on the Swedish synth music scene.Arvid Tuba was a well-known personality in the Swedish industrial and synth music scene at the turn of 80’s / 90’s. For a long time he titled drum troubadour. He has had a number of underground hits such as ” The Crow Kermit “, ” Quote Astrid Lindgren ” and ” Let the Dancing Pigs “.
He was most active in the period from 1985 to 1992 during which he released a large number of home-recorded tapes. The recordings distributed, however, he often personally or through friends, but also through advertising in the magazine New Life . As the underground market for recorded music at home looked so spread the cassettes to many different places in the world such as Japan, Germany, Eastern Europe, Canada, USA and the other Scandinavian countries.
Since 1992, Arvid Tuba made music more sporadic and the recordings are instead distributed over the Internet.
New recorded material has been released as late as 2002. Arvid Tuba still has a small but vibrant fan culture spread over the earth. 1992 released the vinyl single “Painting with jealousy” published on Börft Records, with a promotional video that was shown in the first episode of the Inferno, Lars Aldmans programs on Swedish television on alternative music. Music magazine New Life published a helsidesintervju with Arvid Tuba, and there have also been major articles about him in Falukuriren , Gefle Dagblad and Arbetarbladet .Arvid Tuba also toured extensively. Besides some twenty concerts in his hometown Falun he has also performed several times in Gävle , Bollnäs (opening for Dr. Alban ), Umeå and Gothenburg (opening for SPOCK and Elegant Machinery ). The last live gig was held in Falun 1997.He often collaborated with other artists and did the soundtrack for amateur filmmakers in Norrkoping . Several of the side project he participated in gave the tapes under his own name, eg Music duo (along with Christer Ljungqvist from Psychic Piss Brain Falun), Cecilia’s Children (with Greens Restaurant from Gavle ), and the base of your life (while unarmed in Bollnäs).
