i never understood this thread, but as my CD player gave up life i am playing a lot of vinyls again, and thus i have just put the needle onto

LEGOWELT - Reports from the Backseat Pimp LP

well, i always liked some electro bands, and Legowelt surely belong to them.

can anyone tell me what’s the use of my post (oh, at least you have now 6 informations about myself or my situation), but if i had only written:

LEGOWELT - Reports from the Backseat Pimp LP

okay, LEGOWELT is a matter of the past and i enjoyed it very much, more than i had expected, very good record, incl. “Deutsches PKW”, wonderful…... my girlfriend said i am giving her a hard time with this record, hmmm, didn’t expect this either, so now for something more entertaining:

put the needle onto my recently received,  (thanks Dr G.!) copy of

CHAM-PANG 12”

first vinyl on canadian YUL Records (Rational Youth) from 1981 ...

first song_ pure ‘french’ CHANSON!!!

my girlfriend passed by .... shaking her head ....

then “Ne mourrez pas”, i always loved it, not only because of the CR-78 LOL

yes just sticking some title (mostly they’re open doors as well) without any background info is highly annoying and a waste of bytes.

It reminds me of self-masturbating services like facebook and twitter. Thanks for bringing some quality to this thread Marc :!:

I tried that - background info on the record, or on the situation I’m playing it in - without it becoming any more apparent what the point is.

I tried taking the piss - listing OT artists like Madonna or Status Quo, or listing everything I played song-by-song, adding posts every 4th minute - still not.

So I stayed out of this thread for a bit, just clicking “mark topic as read” without checking it (it frustrates me when I don’t get something that others appear to comprehend), but got curious when Spartak had posted here, I think for the first time, and hey, it’s discussion! Salutations both of you.

For myself, a friend of mine has come to visit, first time since he recommended me some new speakers to buy, so we’re listening to stuff he knows to compare the sound to what I had before. Right now Depeche Mode’s Construction Time Again - also, it’s the first time I play the remastered version so it’s interesting to hear the details and sub-bass that are novel to me…

Just played the CD of this, not more then 5 weeks ago.
Very elegant and nice album… I prefer The Cure a bit gloomy and relaxed.
8)

I like Holy Hour, All Cat’s Are Grey, Funeral Party as the top 3 best.
I like all the songs I Faith, but don’t like.. Primary, I’d put Charlotte Sometimes on there instead if I was Mr. Smith. Although they may have made that song after Faith was done.

And isn’t it ironic that on a board dedicated to bands that most of the board members consider commercial underachievers a thread which is a complete intellectual lightweight (sorry Aircrash, no offence meant) is the most popular one by far?

You don’t understand Olaf ? Come on.
This thread is not about intellect, this thread is about showing that you listen to more obscure stuff then anybody else. It’s an ego trip.

I bet nobody knows this one:

bullshit, Ton.

I personally find it very interesting what music other likeminded people enjoy… nothing to do with egotripping.

If any of you people don’t like this thread stay out of it and feel free to contribute to this forum with more “intellectual” threads that’ll suit your superb intelligence.  :x

That’s a very interesting definition of obscure you have there Ton.

In general i find this thread lacking of any title that triggers my curiosity.

I just started to wonder if my post was that unclear?

What I basically was trying to say is that many of the bands discussed here were far too strange, too weird, too complicated to meet popular favour. And still a thread that is the equivalent of a Modern Talking song turns out to be the most popular one.

Which again shows us that simple things work better in life.

Of course this doesn’t mean that everybody who’s posting here is ego-tripping or a simpleton. And I must know as I am occasionally posting here

But then again, maybe I am ego-tripping ....BTW, what’s wrong with ego-tripping?

Ego-tripping - good thing? Bad thing? Everbody does it in public but nobody wants to admit to it in public?  8)
