Ive got a question regarding the “Monuments - ‘82-‘85 Collected Works” CD.

I heard it on Veronicas EVR Show. Is this a legit release or just a CD-R floating around?

afaik it is just a cd-r compiled from tapes, but I guess sooner or later we will have a rerelease of this phantastic material, hopefully on vinyl !

To my knowledge, the MONUMENTS never issued an official tape and these tracks circulating as “Demos 1982-1985” must have been made public by some third party. But for sure there is no official CD-R release.

Well, and now - before rumours spread - I better tell that an official CD release will see the light of day in very early 2008 compiling their best tracks from 1981 to 1984 plus one remix of their first ever recorded track from 2007. So stay tuned!

Marc, may I call you “Famous Bringer of pleasant news” ?

I’ve been looking for their MLP for years!

And by the way: will please anyone re-release the 7-Inch of the italian band Do-Po? Got my 3rd copy of this record some days ago, but it’s condition is as bad as the other two copies: probably usable as sandpaper, but inaudible otherwise

Ok, It’s not a minimal synth masterpiece ... but it has some sentimental value to me since this track was on a furious tape someone gave me in the early Nineties ... this tape caused me to engage in “Minimalelektronik” , the engagement became a passion which lasts until now. The Do-Po track is the only one I still don’t own on vinyl (well ... in an acceptable condition)

In the meantime I would be very grateful if anybody can provide both tracks in good quality: you won’t regret it :D

Great news! I was hoping for a rerelease of the tape material. Especially since I prefer the tape versions of certain songs compared to the 12” versions.

Though I actually think that “Age” was the one of the very best early 80’s Italian electropop releases, I always felt these Simmons drums were very annoying. Therefore I kind of also prefer the older versions, hehe…
