[quote author=“minimalsynthpolice”]To the Gallows for Dominique Delporte :!:  For he has also bootlegged Solid Space, which is a Crime Punishable by Death :!:  Cheers Erupt :!:  It’s time to watch Heads Roll LOL  :!:  :!:

Huzza! It’s the minimal synth police! Finally you got here! Where the hell were you?

We’ve had no end of crap compilation LPs for insane prices, dodgy “limited edition” re-releases which cost the same as the original on eBay, even Transparent Illution has been bootlegged (is nothing sacred??)... Fans are fooled, artists are f*cked in the behind, the honest reissue squadron get their market taken away from them and what have the Minimal Synth Police done? May I ask?

Well, glad you’re here finally. I hope for a messy execution, so other perpetrators think twice before stooping so low as to bootleg minimal records.

Good point, but… when you see that records are presented having a “white label”, a possible buyer should know that it’s a bootleg and he or she has the full responsability to spend money on this counterfeit.  I admit, I have the bootleg of Transparent Illusion and I knew that it was a bootleg before buying it.  Knowing that this record is compeletely out of print and artists have been or should have been refunded 100%, knowing that I prefer paying 25 euro for a bootleg instead of 1.500 euro for the original, knowing that I prefer a vinyl bootleg instead of shitty mp3-things on my computer or cd-r, I don’t see any problem in the fact that people are selling these bootlegs on the internet.  Even for the traders who have a small stock of originals under their bed, this could turn out positively : attention will be put on the record and some potential euromillionwinners will try to get the original.
I only have problems with people selling records and presenting them as original and ultra rare when in reality, it’s a counterfeit.

And now, I go shopping and try to please my wife with an original Dior-perfume.  I hope the lady at the shop won’t mind if I dismantle the whole box before buying it. LOL

Hmm, with all those uninteresting bits sorted out like a fair trial which took 2 years, with 107 witnesses having been heard in this case and the culprit having finally admitted to the wrongs of his ways, I think we can indeed move on to the more interesting part?

Where, when, how?

1. Good question. Unfortunately Cyberia got closed down due to funding issues. Snowy should have claimed she keeps Enemy Combatants in there and she’d never be short of cash again.

2. Straight away, of course. An accusation has been made, why wait with the execution?

3. Calls for a messy execution have made themselves heard. So by overwhelming public demand, hanging is definitely out. Should we have a poll about the Water Test? The second part of it - should there be any - would be quite messy…

P.S. Minimalsynthpolice, hmm, would you mind accusing me of something in my Ebay thread as well? I could do with some publicity, you know, and I am sure I must be guilty of something… :D

Well, yes and no. White label promos exist also for official releases, sometimes being more collectable than the normal stock copies. Not all collectors are on this forum, so some would not dare risking losing a real rarity. I’ve done this myself some times, then when I get the product home, I understand I’ve been ripped off…

[quote author=“he also”] I admit, I have the bootleg of Transparent Illusion and I knew that it was a bootleg before buying it.  Knowing that this (...), I don’t see any problem in the fact that people are selling these bootlegs on the internet.

The problem is that there WAS a tiny chance that Transparent Illusion could turn up after thirty years of absolute silence, realise that we still want his album, and reissue it properly himself or via one of the labels who do this sort of job, and this chance is now gone.

Also, IMO the money made off this release (and it’s sold for more than 25 euros at times!) should go to Transparent Illusion not some dolt who had nothing to do with the music.

And I don’t much pity the traders who get all the spare copies either. I’m one of them so I know what I’m talking about when I say, damn that pack of greedy money-grabbing black-mailers wink

love

[quote author=“minimalsynthpolice”]FALCK, give this mans BALLS to Veronica for her Collection

As much as I like messy executions and handing balls around, now call me a bluff old tradionalist but I was under the impression that policing was about transparency?  8)

You seem no stranger to this place, Mr. Bobby on the beat, so how about some hard facts about your own identity and the exact circumstances of this heneous crime?

[quote author=“minimalsynthpolice”]And Oystein quit organizing those Pet Shop Boys CDs, and get ready to hold him while I drop the BLADE :!:

My Pet Shop Boys CD collection is in beautiful order actually. I’m ready to play ball at any time

So, I go on one team, Falck on the other, you’ve obviously instated yourself as judge and Dominique as ball (sorry Dom, although, y’know, ya kinda asked for it?), but we’re still twenty players short…

so, anyone for tennis? wink

No footie for me today as I already played last night.  8)

Hmm, doesn’t look like that this is getting anywhere.

Needless to say, judging from his behaviour, the accused looks rather guilty indeed. An innocent man would typically react quite differently, and the fact that Mr. Deporte deleted the bit where he said he bought the items in question at a record fair says a lot for me.

Be that as it may, I still think it’s not cricket to register under an new profile and make accusations while remaining anonymous.

And as you seem to be obsessed with balls, Minimalsynthpolice, how about showing us you got some :!: :!:  :!: I will keep the industrial scissors to myself, I promise… :D

So, if I remember Forum Etiquette round here correctly, whenever someone gets a new nickname, we start pointing fingers at random and yelling at each other, right? On your marks… get set…

Falck! Own up! It’s you who is the police, admit it!  :?

Oh dear, somebody trying to use my own techniques on me. Boy, I’m confused now.

Wait, let’s think this through, now I’m me, and I know for sure I’m neither Reactorlgtn, nor Minimalsynthpolice, nor Delporte.

Reactorlgtn does have balls (I didn’t check in person though, but thanks for asking 8) ), so it’s not him either.

According to Minimalsynthpolice it has to be somebody who posted here, and I don’t think it’s Minicold.

An argument Minimalsynthpolice provided without being asked is “who would make a bootleg and then accuse themselves of bootlegging?”. Well, insane criminal masterminds quite frequently do that and accuse themselves in order for them to look innocent to others.

Alright, Delporte, gotcha!

Well, this is inner circle stuff and no doubt about it. The Minimalsynthpolice knows your and Snowy’s real name as well as about her collection of balls (only heard of such rumors not too long ago myself smile )

Now the name of the thread just got changed to “minimalsynthpolice arrested”, am I wrong to claim that this can only be done by the author (Delporte) and someone who has administrator privileges (Snowy, who else?)?

A split 7” with David Sinfield and Solid Space (not even knowing it is Solid Space?), presented as a white label…

One obvious candidate for the “minimal synth bootleggers hall of shame”!
