due to terrible problems with my pressing plant (which btw has closed down for good reason…), the releases ANNA 006 (Camera Obscura) and ANNA 007 (Cultural Amnesia) are further on delayed. So for those not willing to wait any longer to get ANNA 008, you can order it right away! ANNA 008: DESIGN Fashion and Seduction/Premonition 7”
DESIGN are Edouard Janssens and Eric Brusselmans from Belgium. In the early 80’s they released two tracks on Belgian vinyl compilations: “Premonition” on the sought after “Topless Game” LP (1983) and “Sunset Boulevard” on the “Nuit Blanche” LP (1984). “Premonition” was recorded in September 1982 on 24-track and mixed in Dan Lacksman’s (TELEX) SynSound studio in Brussels. In the same session the previously unreleased track “Fashion & Seduction” was recorded but never made it to any further release. Anna is happy to release these two great tracks, the first one heard for the first time, the other one long deleted and now even remastered by Edouard himself. Definitely not to be missed!

- 7 ” black vinyl, 45 rpm
- high quality pressing made in Germany
- limited pressing of 400 copies
- 1 previously unreleased track
- 1 remastered track
- colour sleeve and labels
- black & white one-sided lyric sheet, hand numbered
- polyethylene inner sleeve for vinyl protection

hm, the 7” is definitely worth it, a true masterpiece !

I got my copy in the mail from AnnaLogue a few weeks ago.  It’s fantastic (and cheap too).

seems there are a lot of troubles with pressing plants lately…but it makes the end result even more rewarding.

just curious—is this a new disovery for most people here? i’ve had the Bside track Premonition on minidisc for ages (roger/skanfrom recorded it for me)... anyway, i’m really glad to see this re-issue—always loved that track, and on my recording the record skips…

i bet the CBS people (the italo-disco freaks from CBS.ru) would love this record too….. i heard that the main guy there I-F started playing Openheimer Analysis and then the record quickly sold out… i was actually surprised that they like the OA so much, but Premonition seems like it would really go down with those people—it’s wavey, but the female vox in the chorus have an italo vibe too

BTW, IMO “Devil’s Dancers” by OA is an unbelievable discovery! if that track had’ve originally been released on Mute or something instead of some obscure tape, i think we’d be hearing it @ 80s retro nights nowadays

I got the “Nuit Blanche” compilation LP with a third track from DESIGN two years ago, and didn’t hear another word about them until Anna digs up another two tracks (I didn’t know they were on another comp).

I haven’t heard those tracks on the single, but Anna generally knows what goes and what doesn’t, so I’ve ordered the single - it wasn’t a big chance to take!

Oppenheimer Analysis… That whole EP is classic! Never a dull moment, I’ve played it a lot.

it is simple:

the A-side “Fashion and Seduction” is UNRELEASED, the B-side “Premonition” is the known track from the “Topless Game” compilation LP, but has been remastered for the ANNA release and sounds much better and more powerful now. i would have loved to include another unreleased track, of course, but as there was none, we thought “Premonition” would be worth adding here in a fresh version.

their third track “Sunset Boulevard” is on the “Nuit blanche” compilation LP.

I know the song Premonition - as most of the people here - for some years now, but I’m really happy to have it in a great and clear version and I really like the b-side as well :wink:
