MAY 2014 : RESURRECTION - Various Artists Compilation by Unknown Pleasures Records / Gatefold Digisleeve CD limited to 500.

This compilation strives to establish an inventory of European dark electronic music of the 21st century. We seek to provide an overview of the electronic modern scenes (minimal synth pop, techno ebm or industrial) to allow listeners to discover a universe of emotions and vibrations in the spirit of the pioneers of dark electro in the end of 1970s / early 1980s.

This compact disc in amazing gatefold digisleeve contains previously unreleased tracks of Dark Synth Pop & Minimal Wave, influenced by the analog sounds of the beginning of the 1980s, these synthetic and melancholic pop songs based on a beautiful vocals and intelligent bass lines seek to reach the path of purity.

Some young talented artists took part in this project beside wellknown musicians of international influence.

Blurring the lines between artifice and reality, Hausfrau is the pop construct of Glasgow based artist Claudia Nova. Themes of darkness and light are mutated into sensual shades by synth projections and Nova’s powerful voice, drawing the listener into a quasi sado-masochistic relationship with the performer-as-oracle.
Transitioning deftly from a delicate whisper to a soaring, controlled serenade, Nova brings depth and substance to the sparse foundations of both her own compositions and the select re-interpretations that make up her debut album “Night Tides”.

Recorded at Glasgow’s Green Door Studios (Sons & Daughters, Casual Sex, Golden Teacher, Amazing Snakeheads) and featuring guest appearances from members of Altered Images, Remember Remember and Eugene Tombs, “Night Tides” takes cues from electronic music alchemists like Throbbing Gristle, Fad Gadget and Suicide and fuses it with the heart and emotion of timeless torch-singers such as Dusty Springfield, Julee Cruise and Siouxsie Sioux.
With “Night Tides”, Hausfrau explores and exploits the stark, beating heart of the dark dance.
