We’ve just added some great new titles and a couple of re-stocks to the distro:

BURIAL HEX / IRON FIST OF THE SUN | ACTAEON / GROWN UNDER ENGLISH ICE | SPLIT LP | Cold Spring Records
Superb trans-Atlantic Power Electronics / Death Industrial face-off between Wisconsin’s Burial Hex and Birmingham’s Iron Fist Of The Sun. Burial Hex presents 2 “pre-industrial” conceptual compositions. Aside from one synth at the end of the first track, this music was all made with acoustic sounds. Intense Power Electronics, but without using amplification or electronically generated sounds. Just like how many industrial artists have flirted with depicting sounds and atmospheres from the first and second World Wars, these pieces were composed imaging atmospheres closer to the American Civil War era. IFOTS’s 4 tracks were recorded at Crushing Obelisk, Birmingham, England. Dedicated to betrayers of family / faith / country. 40 minutes. Ltd x 500 copies.

HIS ELECTRO BLUE VOICE | ANIMAL VERSES B/W BLACK VEILS | 7” | Bat Shit Records
The fourth 7” single by Italy’s ever progressing post-punk outfit. Here lies two tracks of dark and brooding gothic masterworks by one of Italy’s finest. Throbbing bass, piercing guitars and metronome percussion all layered perfectly beneath scornful, shouted vocals. 500 copies. Artwork by Francesco.

KINIT HER | GRATITUDES | CD | Small Doses
Gratitudes finds Kinit Her doing what they do best – crafting unique compositions and blending influences from all over the map. Elements of doom metal, dark ambient, and early industrial music all work their way into Kinit Her’s eclectic brand of ritual neofolk msuic. This release reissues their masterful Divine Names cassette and includes an unreleased full-lenth companion recording, bringing their complete vision to fruition. Mastered by James Plotkin and features artwork by Sineater.

KINIT HER | MOSAIC OF THE HYACINTHS | C30 | Paradigms Recordings
Madison, WI’s neo-folk brethren return with a special cassette only micro-edition on Paradigms. They continue to explore a rich musical heritage of neo-classical and early music influenced occult neo-folk of ever deepening richness and sorrowful wonder. Their organic forest mantras and sacred sigils embrace a lush orchestration of horns, mournful strings, delicate twelve-string guitars to accompany the vocal incantations of woodland mysticism and a search for higher knowledge in conflict with the veil of the modern world. Something beautiful and arcane smolders here. With several acclaimed releases to their name already, including a split album with Burial Hex and an upcoming new album on Pesanta Urfolk, KINIT HER continue to bewitch us with their intoxicating folk psychedelics that flow through blood and earth on “Mosaic Of The Hyacinths”. Presented as a special mirco-edition of 100 copies only! Printed white audio cassette encased in silkscreened presentation box with artwork by Nathaniel Ritter.

THE WORLD ON HIGHER DOWNS | EUCLID B/W A MUTED STREET SONG | 7” | Merck/Plop
The precursor to Brave Mysteries’ own Compass Hour, The World On Higher Downs is Kinit Her’s Nathaniel Ritter and Troy Schafer collaborating with Green Bay, WI eletronic musician Eric Bray (Arctic Hospital, Window Age). This 7” features two tracks from their debut CD “Land Patterns”, which was released on Tokyo based label Plop in May 2007. Initial listens spring up visions of Tortoise, Labradford, or Slowdive, but their music sits somewhere between the murky depths of seasonal depression, cabin fever, and the blooming first days of spring. It has an intellectual quality to it, but maintains a child-like innocence in the way many of its melodies flutter and the implementation of many pitched percussion instruments. Limited to 333 copies - comes in a re-sealable poly bag w/ two stickers.
