I really enjoyed the night!
Was great to meet everybody from MW and especially the little reunion with mr. cigar & mrs. cognac during the day. Next time we’ll eat some mussels (you too C…)!

I love these transnational celebrations of counterculture 8)

[quote author=“Dramatis”]no no Mike I have see only CDRs from Twilight Ritual and Autumn. Not m ore

I did the Oppenheimers a favour and managed their merchandise after the performance of TR… So I know, that there are a lot of CD-Rs & records…
The prices were really fair and there was a great demand.
Thanks to everyone who supported the nice guys from uk buying their music. Sorry, that we didn’t find the time to bring some stuff of Martial Canterel or Xeno & Oaklander…
Even TR sold a lot of stuff, nearly every CD, that was ever released on micrart were available and I saw Martin K. leaving with a bunch of CDs

Thanks to Lieven for organisating this and thanks for the opportunity to see Martial Canterel again. You did me a great favour !!! I will pay you back sometimes…
I don’t saw the whole performances of Oppenheimer Analysis and Twilight Ritual, because during OA I talked with TR and during TR I talked with OA

Nice event and even that I was awake for 26 hours at the end it was worth it.

Ohlala! Great footages you took there! Thanks a lot!
Also thanks a lot for making promotion for my festival. I will put soon “un mot de merci” to everybody on my website.
No problem for the roadmap, I think next time I should send one to everybody who’s coming, because apparently it was not so easy to find the club without a road description.
The third track from TWR is “He is Ice” and not “Closed Circuit”!
Cordialement wave,
Aimé

A little bit late, but here my opinion about last Saturday:

-Martial Canterel : WOW ! Are you sure we’re speaking about the same Martial Canterel of the “Confusing Outsides”-lp on Genetic ? Their performance was amazing, very good, groovy and reminded me more than once of the very early period of Front 242 (at least 2 times I was quite sure to here the intro of “Kampfbereit” :D ).  Very good songs, dark and minimal and, in my opinion, far much better than the lp on Genetic that was more synth pop.
Could anyone tell me where to buy/get a cdr with this material ?

-Oppenheime Analysis : mmmm, not my cup of tea.  Apart from 3 or 4 good (!) songs, it reminded me a little bit too much of good old Pet Shop Boys.  Nevertheless, I bought their 2 cdr’s and, there again, 2 or 3 good songs.

-Twilight Ritual : good selection of songs, but compared to their try out concert last year in Gent (Belgium), too much “software” on stage, if you ask me.  Okay, thanks to this, we were able to enjoy “Closed Circuit” and “I Never Called You A Dream”, but I’ve missed a little bit the DIY-spirit that Martial Canterel showed us earlier that night.

But, at the end, very pleased with this mini-festival raspberry

You should buy them and support this really great musician !!!

He has his own website, I think it is possible to get some of his stuff there for a fair price !

MARTIAL CANTEREL

...and you should order the WIERD compilation from your local record-dealer, on that you could find several songs from him and projects, that he is involved in…

Was there a difference in style between the performances and the album?
I thought the album was pretty dark as well..?

Well, I’d say that the album is quite nice synth wave, but, compared to the act of last Saturday, also quite “soft”.  I’ve just played the record again and, really, there’s quite a difference between this and the fantastic gig of last week.

LOL  LOL  LOL  :?

” far much better than the LP”
Better or not this is not the question, the album of Martial is one of the best records of the past few years and i’m not the only one who think that… i think you prefered the more darkness side of this kind of music, that’s all !

Anyway, I prefer the more DIY-style (just like Sean himself said to me himself  ) and this is what I heard and what I saw last Saturday.  You cannot deny the difference in style between the record and what Sean played last weekend.  This does NOT mean that I don’t like the lp.
And this has nothing to do with the dark side (jesus, you ‘d say Darth Vader is back in town LOL ) of the music.  One of my all time favourites is Twilight Ritual : hard to say that they are “dark”, isn’t it ?  So, please, let’s not argue on dark or white or whatever and focus on the music.
