Ah… the brilliance of the Jupiter Split: arpeggio with one hand, solo with the other.  Save it all for live performance and still have every parameter immediately accessible.

Jupiter 6 is a synth I’ve twice had on extended loan and find inimitable: A microphone, a J-6 & drum machine with a programmable trigger is enough for many great songs.  Have never played an 8 but am not as consistently impressed.

last year there was a j6 on CL for 400 bux - i called the guy, sprinted over there to get it, stopping only to take money out of an ATM. i get there and call the guy repeatedly and there’s no answer. about 10 minutes he comes walking out w/ another guy carrying the jupiter :(
right at that point, some dude in raverpants and a t-shirt w/ headphones comes skateboarding (!!) up, and says “oh man, don’t tell me that’s the jupiter. i went through hell to get here!”. that moment almost made up for missing the jupiter…
