“CLAPS debut EP New Science provides a dark view into the world of minimal synth-pop. The St. Paul Minnesota trio plays exclusively analog synthesizers and believes in computer-free hands on electronic music. The analog instruments used on this album create a sound that may be reminiscent of the late 70’s early 80’s minimal synth and synth pop movements. However, CLAPS New Science is more than just an homage to minimal synth; Its a modern yet classic take on the genre. Along with the current single Fold the EP features two other original tracks, the cold vintage yet fresh sounding dance track Fireworks and a more down tempo drum-less track “Gruzzles. The EP also contains three remixes of the current single Fold by Chic Portier, Busy Signals and Sovietpanda.”
