Well, there’s a difference between “most wanted” and “most rare”.
Me too; I want this Transparent Illusion LP and 12” of League of Nations.  And let’s admit, they appear from time to time on ebay.  So are they really that rare ? When you check out the crazy prices people are asking/paying for, I would rather say that they are “most wanted”...

I think that too…was the same problem some time ago with the Guerre Froide mLP, now the prices are going down, maybe because all who wanted it already have it…and of course there is this CD re-edition, like for the Silvia lp….the best lesson : to be patiente until the prices goes down :D
Personnaly, I want the Stranger Station 7” :D

The rarest one I know about is the Offering of Isca compilation. With 2 probably otherwise unreleased Circuit 7 songs.

the singing off key is so crappy!  was he trying to sound interesting? I wonder… Ive been out of the loop for a few years, has anyone re-release transparent illusion on cd? if so , has it sold well?  if not , for good reason ...because imo it wouldnt sell… most hype ever for that stinky LP. i wish I had one.. to sell.. I think that is the reason why most search for it. to simply resell it.

I like it, because it sounds so cheap

btw. what is the RMHAM 7”?? Can anyone tell me?

I would say the League of Nations Promo-12inch is really rare. Has it been offered on ebay? I never saw it.

The first edition promo from Nightmoves - Transdance is also a rare one.

The original GC1 promo was a 500 copies release, so it’s rare but not ultra rare i guess.

There is a falsification of the second GC2 promo around BTW, check:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4887954625&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

to distinguish from the original is pretty easy fortunately; it is written without a s, the order is wrong (Night Moves should be on top), there is no harp inscribed next to the matrix#, and the tracks on the b-side are probably incorrect (not sure about that, but should be Night Drive & Beat This, not the NY mix), so watch out!

Jens (Elias), why did you buy a falsification for 81 dollars?? like I said, it’s not the real one. You’re only stimulating further falsifications by paying such large amounts for them.

A couple of other rarities, not to contest Transparent Illusion perhaps, but still?

-Poeme Electronique? A single, on Carrere in 1982, I love the music and I’ve never seen it on Ebay, but I don’t know if it would be a top $$$ rarity - maybe you know?

-Time will tell if the recent prices for Paul Nova’s LP is just hype or if he’s a recently established top rarity; the LP’s sold twice for nearly $1000 so some people must think it is very rare…

-Class info 12ep?

-the first Information Society 12EP is said to exist in less than 100 copies, another favourite of mine but maybe not everyones idea of $$$ well spent?

-Ex. Prod’s Prototype LP? I think it was 300 copies, there must be more than 300 people out there who like it…

Also, the Transparent Illusion LP at least has the distinction of being something UNIQUE. The music on that LP is to me the very definition of minimal electronics! The songs sound on the verge of falling apart, the singing is beyond tonedeaf madness, and yet there’s something there… a load of analog synths that seem to have taken a life on their own… Out there, man!
yup, probably my top wanted LP.

Interesting thread though!
Never heard of RMHAM, thanks for the tip

i don’t agree in it sounding very unique. The singing reminds me very much of Thomas Leer in Private Plane, almost a direct copy! And in totality, with the strong analogue sounds and detached singing it sounds very much like Genocide, from two years earlier.

If you’re talking about the 5 song EP, white with the circled “I” in black, there were 500 of these pressed up.  I used to see one used about once a year here in Minneapolis, but I haven’t seen one lately.  I was buying every copy I could find and at one point I had 5 but traded off 4 of them.  I also have a list of about 7 people who want the next one I find.  Their next 12”, Creatures Of Influence, is much harder to come by.  I’ve only ever seen 2 copies (which I bought) and I sold one about 3 years ago.  Ebay got me about $40-$60 for it, I can’t quite remember the exact ammount.

There was another Minneapolis band called Kindergarten who’s first 3 song EP goes on ebay for between $100-$200.  I just found one for $3.75 over the weekend, it’s the second copy I’ve seen in the last year.  I think there were only 300-500 copies of that pressed.

Also, The New Occupants first EP can be had for mere pennies because no one knows who they were.  As soon as word gets out on that one it will command high prices.

While they’re more early industrial synth than minimal synth, the first two SPK 7"s were only pressed in quantities of 200 and sell for upwards of $2000 when available.

And of course, all 4 of the Iron Curtain records and the Steve Fields solo 7” were self-released and very rare. I’ve only ever found the Shadows 12” in any stores, although the first two EPs occasionally are sold on eBay.

The Thing from the Crypt LP is very rare (I think only 300 copies were pressed?), and the follow-up, Another Thing from the Crypt, is even rarer.
