One of the best radio programmes of the early eighties was for me “Spleen” on Hilversum 3 in The Netherlands.  The programme was put together by Ed Van Kasteren and Ignit Van Kasteren, who also did the presentation (also known from their group Van Kaye & Ignit and their label Ding Dong).  Each week their was a band playing live in the studio, and groups like Front 242, A Blaze Colour, Ende Shnaefliet, Ensemble Pittoresque, etc. could be heard on the radio.

Another interesting show on VPRO from that time was Radionome from Richard Zeilstra (Genetic Factor).
I hope to have more info on that soon.

There’s the “Radionome” LP compilation from VPRO.
There’s one track in there by Genetic Factor.
I think there’s a picture of it here in the gallery if I’m not mistaken.

Yes indeed, the compilation was called after his radio show.
I hope there are still recordings of the show left!

Yes, I might have some recordings. I will have a look at the secret cellar, if you don’t insult the prophet of course

The record is ready… be prepared for it in september… and if you really want to be sure… pre-order it… Trumpett Sounds is sold out… this record will do the same…

There are two tracks that were recorded by the VPRO on the Front 242 “Geography” remaster ( out on Alfa Matrix, yeah I know…). Not sure if they are from Spleen, could be.
