BloodLust! New Release - Out Now:
Artist: Sleep Museum
Title: “Home”
Format: CD in jewel box
Catalog Number: BloodLust! 118
Genre: Minimal Synth / Industrial / Experimental
“Home” is the fourth and final disc in a short series of Sleep Museum EPs on BloodLust!; Easily, one of my favorite artists of the last couple of years; The first four tracks - totaling over 23 minutes - feature rhythmic, darkly melodic synth- and drum machine-driven TRUE MINIMAL SYNTH music, with unrepentantly eccentric vocals, and dour lyrics; Utterly contemporary, yet also reminiscent of certain late-1970s and early-1980s “cold” music - a hint of Joy Division mood and a dose of electronic-era Death in June; The fifth track is a nearly 36-minute long experimental analog synth piece, far closer to the M.B. and Lustmord-styles of dark electronics; We are calling this an EP, even though it clocks in at nearly 60-minutes; Professionally duplicated CD, single panel, double-sided insert; color artwork; in jewel box with shrinkwrap; Released in 2008.

BloodLust! New Release - Out Now:
Artist: Locrian
Title: “Rhetoric of Surfaces”
Format: CD in jewel box
Catalog Number: BloodLust! 113
Genre: Drone / Metal / Experimental
As a follow up to the “Plague Journal” 7-inch [B!089] released earlier this year, which showcased the group’s distinctive style of deconstructed metal trance music, I am pleased to announce this new Locrian release, which deftly unites a grouping of out-of-print and previously unreleased material from the duo, charting live and studio work that pre-dates their recent shift into more black metal-influenced territory; Rich, heavy, guitar/keyboard/voice-based drone for those who usually find such music to be too gentle or uneventful; This sequence of songs was mastered for this release by Jason Soliday, creating a cohesive collection that functions as a true album, not like a cumulation of odds and ends; Professionally duplicated CD, single panel, double-sided insert; color and black and white artwork that includes an appropriately “Ummagumma” and “Kollaps”-influenced photograph by Kelly Rix, shot at the long-abandoned Dixie Square Mall in Harvey, Illinois; in jewel box with shrinkwrap; Released in 2008.
