I’ll be traveling around Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg from about March 10-March 31. Does anyone know any good shows, parties, art exhibits, etc going on during those days in any of those countries? And can anyone suggest a good record store? Or does anyone know a good website or resource where I can find out more information?
THanks!

Hello Goutroy,

If you’re in Antwerp, Belgium around the 28th of March, we have a special evening going on here in a café. Me and Aimé Le Chevalier will be playing loads of good music including minimal synth, electrowave, ... and lots of special music which was broadcasted at the locally famous “Liaisons Dangereuses” radio show years back. Sort of a tribute evening.

Would be happy to welcome you and guide you around Antwerp, arrange cheap place to stay and eat and we can visit some records stores if you like.

If you like photography we have a nice photography museum nereby, if you like modern arts or the old paint masters like Rubens & Ensor, we have nice museum for these too.

Cheers
Kris

I have been checking the Kagan Kalendar for dark benelux events.

Its quite nice! You could probably find something to your liking.

A good record store here in Brussels is called jukebox-something. It’s eeeh, on the big street (have to check google-maps) , boulevard anspach. Among other things they have a box entitled “body music” with a lot of synth/body gems.

They also have “Disdain” 12” from White House White. I found the remaining stock and put it for sale in several record shops in Belgium.

There is by no chance a recordshop in belgium that has stuff from enfant terrible, or perhaps minimal wave? Id definitely go there!

I did see the Agent side grinder vinyl at ‘jukebox’ but nothing more…

Thanks so much! We’re slowly finding out our route. Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Ghent and Amsterdam are all cities we will definitely go to. We want to go to museums (The Museum Vrolik in Amsterdam for sure, as well as art museums and galleries), clubs/shows/parties every two nights or so, etc. We’ll either be in Antwerp on the 28th or Arnhem to see Echo West. I can’t wait! Any more suggestions would be great!

Belgian recordstores :
Brussels : Jukebox shop (Anspachlaan) : expensive but some rare items for sale.  Arlequin (near Manneke Pis) : less expensive and also some goodies in stock.
Gent : Vinyl Kitchen : same price for records in poor shape as for new ones.  A complete new wave section with records of Klinik, Poésie Noire, à;Grumh, Neon Judgement,....  Vynilla : here you can find some rare new wave items (cold, minimal, dark,....)

Working on that. Jukebox Shop has more ET releases in stock then ASG.

There’s a virtual Belgian shop who has it all :D

If you’d land a few days earlier: on March 7th and 8th there’s the biggest recordfair of Belgium in Gent.
