Minimal Wave Records

Hello all!

The CD set ”Maskindans - Norsk synth 1980-1988” collects 41 Norwegian synth classics of the period on two discs, remastered and with a 52p booklet with gorgeous pics of those involved.

“Maskindans” is scheduled for release on 13th february, which calls for a celebration!

DJ Juryen spins Norwegian postpunk/ synthpop/ sounds of the underground from the eighties or other decades, and several of the best dance orchestras of the era return to life and perform short, but undoubtedly fantastic live sets:

Boxbury Beat
Adrian Cox
Det Gylne Triangel
Horsemen

-and if they can, the legendary T.B.A. will also be there!

The party takes place at Indigo, a most fitting club next to Blå (we’re in Oslo, Norway now), and it’s pretty small so we strongly expect to it to be filled to the brim with a merry, jubilant crowd of all-nighters.

The 100 NKR covercharge unfortunately does not include the CD set, but we’ll have it on offer at a discount inside all through the festivities. Or until we sell out.

Oh, and the club does not accept card payment, so if you want to enter, buy CD’s or a drink or two, you’ll have to bring cash….

What a night we’ll have!

it’s really not that bad!

To be exact, the bands have one guest room each. Spart is in the billiards room, while we’ve acquired a new spare bed in the library, where I trust you shall be most comfortable. It is within walking distance of the guest bathroom.

If anyone is interested in roughing it, the Chesterfield is still free. It is situated in the smoking room, and so may have a slight bouquet of Cuban cigars, but I’d say it would still be better than the Maid’s chambers, which are free after we had to dispose of her services just after Christmas due to the recent recession in the world economy.

What a night we had!!

Four bands, plus Brt, the vocalist of Famlende Forsøk - the band couldn’t make it, but he recited the lyrics to their track on the Maskindans comp (Tror Nok Jeg Levde… Engang), a cappella, while the DJ was dancing!

Adrian Cox, Horsemen, Boxbury Beat and Det Gylne Triangel all did great, too short appearances; the jam-packed place got encores out of everyone except Horsemen - who certainly could have done one if they had wanted to but were probably too cool

I’ll try and upload some pictures from the night at http://www.myspace.com/hommagerecords asap, Trine brought her camera and took some very nice snaps.
