[MR012]Nacho Patrol - The Maze of Violence
(Il Labirinto di Roma Violenta)

MR012-coverfront.jpg
>>> LP cover <<<

This obscure lost soundtrack for an even more obscure (and also lost and
never finished) “Italia violenta” cop movie was recently discovered when I
bought the dusty reel tapes from a restaurant owner in Fiumicino, a
seaside town near Rome.
“Panter 777” aka “Il Labirinto di Roma Violenta” aka “The
Maze of Violence”, he told me, was directed by Gervasio Giardano in 1981 and was
considered too (politically) explicit by the movie production company who
dropped the project after the first screening.
Apparently heavily influenced by the cult poliziesco “La polizia sta a guardare” (Ransom! Police is Watching) it tells the story about a corrupt cop who plans to kidnap some big industrial boss as an act of revenge after the cop’s daughter dies in a chemical waste accident.
He discovers the involvement of the catholic church and the goverment and
gets entangled in a maze of corruptness and violence.

The soundtrack, an explosion of wahwah funk riffs and juicy analog
synthesizers, was composed by an obscure band called Nacho Patrol.
The restaurant owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was one of the band
members and composed most of the tracks.
(Danny Wolfers)

funny… I place a remark on a TEXT and on CONTENT… and the reply is a PERSONAL INSULT…

(and apparently by somebody who took the time to search the internet for a photo of me…)

I totally agree with deutschmark and Martijn. M. just points out that the formentioned release has the smell of reverse history all over it and he get’s an insult in return.  rolleyes

Having the misfortune of living in democracy and being harassed by weird people who feel the moral duty of “placing remarks” must be tolerated, it’s daily life, but too much is too much… we know you’re used to promote yourself (and probably trying to look cooler) writing shit about artists/labels/whatever over the internet since a few years just as you know that pushing yourself to spit cheese on someone may stimulate unfriendly reactions… so please go bother someone else, thanks.

“Having the misfortune of living in democracy and being harassed by weird people who feel the moral duty of “placing remarks” must be tolerated, it’s daily life, but too much is too much…”

If you have long sensitive toes, you should grow some callus and learn to live with them as most people are totally unaware or don’t care.

I don’t see where M has insulted you so much, that it ever could ever justify such a personal insult. It is no secret that Legowelt records under a miriad of aliases, sometimes disguised as obscure originals ( some good, many not so good, but hé, that is my little personal opinion), so where is the “insult”?

Good thing we live in a democracy where we are all entitled to our own little insignificant “personal” opinions (we should all value that; I do…   ).

Oh, I forgot: let’s just get back to discussing music, whether it is cheesy or serious….

the point is that i really dont care of the forum wars: dont u like the release?well it could happens, personal tastes are not in discussion i hope…but M. wanted to point out something that it was useless to do for my vision of the thing,as he not even listened or talked about the music or about this or that track.. which text? which content? is a clear ironic way to describe the release as so is clear that the problem is not the release itself musically talking but something old and hidden around, and sincerly i simply dont care about it. if you want to do a provocation, M. or whatever, again, i dont care about, as ive nothing to say or to share with.

so , AirCrash…in this topic i was the only one talking about music..nobody else did…you can see as it is hard then to talk about the so called ‘Music’.

i normally posted a release..thinking that maybe somebody here could be interested to know that is out, so personally i didnt liked the M. comment and i talked about with him through email, so personally, ive really nothing more to add to what i said already grin

i think the record sounds great.
say what you will about danny’s occasionally hokey backstories and cultivated mystique, but it’s hard to deny that he’s an amazingly versatile and dedicated producer.
the nacho patrol stuff (not fond of the name, btw) is interesting, too, with all those cheap digital synths… its a sound that has yet to be fetishized like the much beloved pre-midi roland and korg sound, but is pretty effective..the other nacho patrol record coming out soon (can’t remebmer the label) also sounds pretty good.

@ AirCrashBureau
M got the message and that’s enough.
Regarding your “insignificant” personal opinions: every contribute is welcome here, and much appreciated… btw “cheesy” is much more then an insult, especially if referred to someone like Danny

@ teachu2die
The other Nacho Patrol coming soon is “Africa Space Program” on Kindred Spirits, it’s more on the funk side and composed, as you write, almost on a cheap Yamaha sequencer (The Maze of Violence was not wink. A must have, imo.
