Item # 250329149643

Has this ever been booted?  If so how does one tell the original from the boot?

You mean because it looks so new? The seller actually has a lot of related items which he explains stem from a well looked after collection.

If he put all these on sale just to camouflage a Music 4 bootleg, he did his homework well

Apart from that, everything on the pictures looks just like my copy, which however unfortunately is not quite in the same condition.

Didn’t hear of a 7” bootleg, but maybe the seller and me got the same one after all?  8)

What does exist for sure is the almost official “Eyes of Christ - the Collection” CD edition, released on “Backstreet/Backlash Records”.

why would anyone make an unofficial repress of this? It’s not that expensive, and the poster would make it an expensive item to boot anyway. I’d go for the Inertia singles instead if I were a bootlegger, or transparent illusion…

BTW did this not come with a postcard and a badge, as per the 1908: first 15 minutes EP?

I thought I remembered hearing of a not-quite-official repress of this in the late 80’s.  I guess I was wrong.

Well, hard to say really. How can you say for sure it has NOT been counterfeit?  But as Reactorlgtn mentioned, what speaks against it on principle is the price tag, I guess I paid Euro 20.- for my copy for instance.

But maybe we should have a list of known cases of forgery?

The Twilight Ritual LP springs to mind (as discussed here in minute detail), although apparently it was the label itself so that wouldn’t count as a proper counterfeit either….I keep hearing that the Das Kabinette 7” got “re-issued”, but I can’t say more than that….

concerning das kabinette it was a limited backstock of copies that had no cover that got a new hardcover copy + autographs from the members…no doubts there
