Last two weeks about 4 copies of Ceramic hello LP in M/ NM condition turned up on ebay all of a sudden. Especially suspicious is a seller called jrlhansen that had two perfect copies for sale. Am i missing something?

Wow,

bootlegging a disc which has been officially re-released, without the bonus tracks of the official re-release, is what I’d call a daring economical disposition… The business equivalent of playing russian roulette without making sure the gun has only one bullet.

More likely they found a couple copies in the loft of a record shop, maybe?
Jrlhansen doesn’t sound French to me… sorry, cheap shot wink

yes maybe a more likely explanation…still it’s kinda suspicious.

but the french dont have a monopoly on bootlegs…I understood the van kaye & ignit to originate from germany, and the league of nations is american.

It was Dom Mickey!!!

I was there when he did it.

Well, alright, I wasn’t there, but I was very close at least.

Okay, okay, in fact a friend of a friend told me that…. 8)

But seriously, commercially it wouldn’t make that much sense indeed to bootleg it after its re-release.

Chances are some people who missed the boat to sell this somewhat overrated piece of vinyl at tourist prices just want to part with it now. And there’s yet another vicious rumour that not every M/NM record out there really is a M/NM record…

Admit it, Falck - you don’t really like home-made, un-autotuned, commercially unsuccessful underground 80s electronics, do you?

Again, it’s all a matter of perspective. If I didn’t know it and made a lucky hit on the fleamarket (like I did with first Electric Theatre 12” last weekend), I’d be excited.

But if people say this one is the cream of the crop, then it’s simply overrated…

And again, one man’s car is another man’s bicycle is another man’s missing bird…
