Live at Club UltraFoxx 16/8: Sista Mannen På Jorden!

Club UltraFoxx is a monthly club at Sugar Bar in Stockholm. Residents DJ Cybergirl (Tina Arwidson) and DJ MissMantic (Maria Molinder) play new wave, minimal wave, cold wave, dark wave and other waverly disorders.

Our plan is ambitious: we want to invite Swedish and foreign new & minimal wave artists to our club, of which many have never played in Sweden or Stockholm before!

I just wonder - does anyone know what that term “wave” means at all?

Sorry Bjork, just couldn’t help it…

Anyways, sounds like a shagadalic event so be quick to book your flight to Stockholm! Or walk there if you’re living closer… 8)

And Tina, please make sure you will let us all know when Nouvelle Culture will play. :D

At the end of the 70’s together with punk and punkrock there was a “new wave” of all these new bands. It started in England and the “new wave” spreaded all over Europe. C’est la “nouvelle vague” en français quoi.

Yes, thanks for this explanation not completely unlike mine in the “the minimal wave term” thread I was referring to… 8)

Sure Falck! Course I’ll spread the word once we’ve got the final date for Nouvelle Culture!! And possibly also a few other waverly artists you could all be interested in….

Ah yes… the slightly exaggerated usage of waves in this invitation was of course not without irony, so I’m pleased someone picked it up..wink

But let’s not dive into this fascinating discussion here as well…
