For those w/o a myspace account:

To all my oh so close, close friends…
Here’s an inside scoop for those who want to know…. wink~

Frank Maier of V.O.D. Records (a.k.a…. Vinyl On Demand Records) and
Michael Gross of Experimental Products are talking vinyl…
The band’s complete vinyl catalog and unreleased “Garage Tracks” recordings are being considered…
Look for the result of this “fetish de vinyl” colaboration in early 2008…

Visit Frank and V.O.D. Records from my friends list…

as always…. May you all glow in peace…

yours truly… M.G.

Yep, this confirms what I already heard some months ago. smile

Fine, re-release of Experimental Products, Iron Curtain,... who’s next ? League of Nations ? I hope it, really.  With these crazy prices on ebay, only the richies can afford buying this good stuff. rolleyes

Experimental Products - myth or legend…?

Just for those luvers of… tight… fragrant… vinyl products…
Experimental Products is back in black….

Phonograph turn-tables are still a valid means of sound production…
Vinyl records are still available from many sources…
Give in to the vinyl rush….

  PROTOTYPE is re-issued…!  (about time…)
  On 12” vinyl….(not on CD….  crap…!)
  !0 songs of varying flavors…
  Korg 55 drum/rhythm machine…
Korg MS-20… some PolySix and Pro One….
  Casio MT-30…  Korg Preset….
  Vocals on most tracks…

Some think PROTOTYPE this is a good record….
It was an ambitious work of creative expression…
Is there one song that caught your attention…?
Or… do most of the tunes carry weight…?
  But…. was it all that…?
  Is it myth or legend…?

GARAGE TRACKS are unreleased spare bedroom recordings…
Side A- 5 songs resurrected from the tape archive…
Korg 55… and sometimes sequenced Roland SH-101… Polysix…
Vocals….  solo busy work by M.Gross…
  Is it up to snuff…?

  Side-B is a 1983 live performance recording…
The best (and only) iive recording from that period…
  Korg-55… Pro One… Polysix… Source… MT-30…

Which vocal work or song style do you find to your liking…?
M.Wilde… or M.Gross…?  Do any lyrics catch your attention…?
  or…. is it pretentious shite…?

  All I say is HAZZAH…!  VOD Records….!
Now the music can be rejudged…

  Myth or legend….?

(you can’t judge unless you own it…
  and….  listened to it…)  wink~

  very truly yours….  M.Gross

I´d say that Frank of V.O.D. is a little overstrained since I´m waiting for my copy for 4 weeks now - and it´s already paid! He pleads that he has to serve the demands of his subscribers first, but he´s stretching my patience.

Cheers,
Alex

Frank the Postman… wink~

Is the postman late…?
  Waiting can a frustrating activity…
  Please… hang in there… He’ll catch up…
All those record packages to lick…
Poor guys been poisoned… no doubt…

I know he’s been working hard to get the ExProds package together…
  and it’s a beauty…
In my opinion… Your delayed VOD fix will be rewarded…

I can only hope you will agree….

An entertaining read…

If their are any Minimal Wave members who would like to read
a nicely written blog about Philadelphia during the 80s…
I recommend this link…

  http://djrobertdrake.blogspot.com/2006/01/urban-oasis.html

This first link mentions Experimental Products….
But I suggest reading other entries describing the music, club, party,
political and personal life of an active “new wave” gay in center city Philly and NYC…
Gives a raw, insightful look at the decade so many refer to…
The entries describe a realism that may tarnish any romantic
notions of those who appreciate but did not live though the 1980s….  wink~

    yours truly…...  M.Gross

I got my copy today, after paying through the nose for it on the internet after it sold out (to get the single of course - if I buy a record, I want it complete)...

But what’s this I hear?

There’s a SKIP in one song - If you listen to the track “New Project”, towards the end, after the “when times look hard” lyric - it can’t be just my copy, surely?
I checked the vinyl, there’s no marks or anything. Maybe it was mastered from an original vinyl that skipped?

Did anyone else notice? If it skips only on my copy (no 45/600) it’s at least better than if every copy has this flaw.

Still, it didn’t manage to put me off “the Addict”... what a smasher.

There’s a very small skip on my copy (# 40) as well, actually I didn’t notice it until you pointed my attention to it.
Nevertheless I’m still very enthusiastic about this fantastic item!

could you record a sample of the part i mentioned? it’s pretty special if some copies skip (and now I’m not the only one) while others dont..

bizarre. :?
