Dear all,
the audio masters for the Twins Natalia 7” are ready and Steve is working on the final artwork amendments so that we can now hope to have the vinyl be released around early/mid-June 2008.
In the meantime, it was thought you might wanna read (and hear) how all of this started: therefore the two original demos of “Kleiner Satellit” and “When We Were Young” were added to the audio player and a little explanation is presented as follows:
The demo version of “Kleiner Satellit” was recorded in Würzburg in 2005 using a Boss DR-55 rhythm machine triggering the arpeggiator of a Korg Poly-61 synthesiser. The Jean-Michel Jarre-ish strings come from a Crumar Performer and the high sequences were manually played and recorded on top.
The demo version of “When We Were Young” was recorded in Zemitz in 2007 using a Roland CR-78 rhythm machine triggering the Roland CSQ-100 sequencer and Roland SH2 synthesiser. Again, the strings are from the wonderful Crumar Performer. Also the demo features a very rare vocal performance from Marc, run through a Behringer effects unit.
These were the tracks given to Dave, and from the excerpts of the final versions you can hear yourself what beautiful full and lively music Dave has unveiled from this raw material. The wonderful lyrics and vocal lines were composed by Sharon and sung by both Sharon and Julie. It all just fits so well together ... don’t wonder when walking the streets having these songs on your mind. Let yourself go and simply sing along…
A third Twins Natalia song is currently in production, and of course Dave is very busy with working on Poeme Electronique.
