I know! I’ll wait for your email.

As far as I know there’s no 3 in the series.
The first one is the best one IMO.
I’ll try to make some samples of the 4th one for you.

also there’s a new one floating around called Strange Sounds Vol.  1
Cool track listing. It’s basically a flexipop cdr but on vinyl LOL

Modern Art - Still Life

Solid Space - 10th. Planet

Burlesque - Collision Of Sex

Transparent Illusion - Demented

Portion Control - Across The Fence ( top rare song )

Ian Elms - The Street Enters The House

Cinema 90 - In Ultra Violet

Stephen Spera - Sound Of The Crowd

Exhibit A - Platform 6

The Metronomes - A Circuit Like Me

it’s supposed to sound great. We will see. I have yet to get it. Anybody has this already? limited to 120 copies?

I hope it’s better sound quality (what scandal!) and lower price (ditto).

"slight delay" vinyl is a rip off

I totally agree that the sound quality of this bootleg is a scandal.
I bought it in good faith that it would do any better than the orig.
ding dong mc, but it´s just a copy.
these guys have no respect to the music and their fans. it´s all
just about earning easy money.
with “strange sounds” vinyl it´s seems to be the same, ´cos this
one comes from the same source that started “flexipop”.
why do they release it on vinyl? because it´s closer to the original?
No way. It´s difficult to copy. that´s it. 120 copies each for 27euro
makes 3240 euro total sale. Costs are approx. 1000-1500€ for the
complete pressing. make your on conclusions

My own conclusion would be that it seems to be quite a lot of hassle and risk for not _that_ much money.

Thanks for warning me about the Van Kaye & Ignit LP - like many people in this world, I do not have the MC, so I figured the LP might be an ok way of getting the songs… But then again, maybe not!

Hiya Agileo btw, good to see you’re here.

It is a hassle! then you have the people who want to hunt you down for it.
The funny thing is that they sell bootleg themselves (the hunters). But that’s a different topic altogether.

The Van Kaye & Ignit LP is not that bad considering that as you say the MC is not easily available. So what? you rather have a stale mp3? A FREE mp3? from a collectors point of view, these bootlegs become interesting pieces to have. I don’t condone the making of these but when I have the chance to get them I do. It’s a matter of preference in my case.
Get them now before you cry later and kick yourself in the arse for not getting it and have to pay big bucks on ebay.

qy-70 was all, like: “Get them now before you cry later and kick yourself in the arse for not getting it and have to pay big bucks on ebay.”

I don’t follow you. Why would I pay big bucks on ebay for an inferior-quality bootleg of a rare tape? Now or ever?

If I can find the original - a tape, an LP, whatever - at a price I am prepared to pay (and this also depends on many things), excellent. If some recording has been re-released, comparatively cheaply, with better sound quality and/ or bonus tracks, like the Twilight Ritual stuff or some Trumpett CD-Rs, also excellent.

But if a bootlegger records a bunch of rarities to a “Best-of” LP (Kassettentäter) and sells it for huge money on Ebay, that’s nothing to do with the way I collect. In particular if the sound quality is not up to scratch.
Bootlegs I trade for free with friends and fellow collectors. You mention stale/ free mp3s, CD-R is another option, but even waiting to hear the music until I find an original, is _to_me_ better than an overpriced bootleg.
It feels kinda wrong to let someone cash in on other people’s work by releasing bootlegs, and with re-issues, official or un-, quality is always a factor.

Of course, that’s just my oppinion, this thread started with Spartak wanting the Kassettentäter 2 LP so I know other people think differently about this…

What I meant by “Get them now before you cry later and kick yourself in the arse for not getting it and have to pay big bucks on ebay.”  Was that it will most likely be MORE expensive in the future. Then you will regret it later for not buying it when you had the chance of getting it when it was cheaper. “Capisce”?

Who is qy-70? wink

bunch of rarities to a “Best-of” LP (Kassettentäter) and sells it for huge money on Ebay

That’s the problem. These were not expensive until they reached ebay!

Bootlegs I trade for free with friends and fellow collectors

Well, yes….a trade is a FREE exchange. But someone is loosing money in the process no? did you get the bootleg for free? or did the other person did?

It feels kinda wrong to let someone cash in on other people’s work by releasing bootlegs

But it’s not going to stop anytime soon. Its been going on for too long.
I don’t see how downloading is ANY different. Do you?

Like I’m saying, It’s a matter of preference. I prefer a vinyl than an Mp3.

It’s a compilation 7” with groups from Holland on Trash records. The most oustanding track on it is Parlinone with “Dodubdada” (I am a bad boy ...). I played it on Veronica’s radioshow when I was in New York.
