Some of you may have seen this new MP3 blog,   .  They are cranking out MP3s to rare albums faster than any of us can keep up.  Not that I expect anyone to go through all 500 (!) posts, but I’m a little overwhelmed by the selection and could use some help in narrowing down what’s truly essential.  Can anyone here help?  I already have xex and have downloaded Experimental Products.  My taste in early-80s electronic stuff tends toward the raw yet melodic: favs include Young Marble Giants, Cabaret Voltaire, Eyeless In Gaza, Robert Rental, Reproduction-era Human League, Thomas Leer, The Normal, Soft Cell, etc.  I am also a sucker for drum machines that either a) don’t sound like anything close to real drums or b) sound like cheap toys.  That may be why “Nag Nag Nag” has some of my favorite electronic rhythm sounds.

Thanks,
Mike

That’s already been done, it’s called “See seller’s other items” on ebay, or “Search and browse our catalog” in GEMM… wink

hi

ive hanged around on mutant sounds the last half a year or so, and its really great, used it to find a lot of stuff people talkk about here on mw.

as im sure youve already tried out, a blog search on “minimal” or “synth” comes up with a lot of good things, thats a good way to keep track of older stuff, altough it doesnt find everything….

And so I’ll remember you,
I’ll remember the days and the thousands of ways you pulled me through,
And dream of all the things you’ve seen,
Of all the faces and all of the places you have been
