Metal Urbain in San Francisco!

A bit more synthpunk than minimal wave, but still worth mentioning: legendary French electro-punks Metal Urbain have quietly been added as the opening band for Japan’s Polysics this Saturday at Cafe Do Nord in SF. They’re also headlining a show on Sunday at Annie’s Social Club. As far as I know, these are their only two US dates.

looks like they’re headed back to france after those dates.  Too bad for us in NYC.

No, I didn’t tape it… but it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. They are apparently recording a new album in California, so they ONLY played new songs. Fortunately they are in the same style as their original stuff (drum machine/synth and two guitars), but I would have like to hear some classics.

Hmm…I guess is no one else taped it then I’ll have to listen for that album. Fingers crossed.

They are working on a new album with jello biaffra…..The new demo i have heard are not very killer….. :?
