How about Jane Wilson from I’m so Hollow or Alison Statton from Young Marble Giants?

Hi,
This example of female heroes is interesting reading - though I don’t not if it’s possible to make any sort of conclusion out of it.

I think Mona Soyoc in Kas Product is great example –Gina Kikoine is another great example of a true electronic pioneer, and the women from Mechanical Servants …

I’m not sure where the “not merely performing” discussion is going – It’s hard to draw a line.

I want do list some of my favourite Male - female duos.

Drinking Electricity (Anne-Marie Heighway and David Rome)

No More (Andy A. Schwarz, Tina Sanudakura)

Vicious Pink Phenomena (Josie Warden & Brian Moss)

Mathématiques Modernes (Claude Arto & Edwige Braun-Belmore)

Cheers
MrFloppy

[quote author=“Cybergirl”]On the Silvia part, I’ve heard as much too…

Hi Cybergirl,

I would like to add that I heard from a hopefully well informed source that the Silvia LP just happened because Tommi Stumpff wanted to make use of some already paid for studio time he had on his hands. I wouldn’t risk any body parts for this to be true, though.  :D

Ah, and great we got some input from Mr. Floppy on a gender perspective 8)

Good evening everyone!

Jane Wilson could probably suit my needs.. however, since they decided to disband before their first album, they’re far down in the underground… But, I’ll think about it…

Alison Statton of YMG seems to be the vocalist and not much more while Stuart wrote the songs, if you should trust Wikipedia…

Ah, there you go - Peaches and Miss Kittin… But not the right time perspective unfortunately for my research…

And yes, agreed on Mona Soyoc, although one could object in that she’s the more jazz/rock part of the duo, while Spatsz is the electronic side….
Gina x, yes, she could be the woman! Not very wellknown to the large public (at least not in Sweden), but well…

I’ll look into all your duos there as well, Mr Floppy, and I’ll be looking forward to hearing the full account on your gender perspective Falck… LOL

Cheers, and just keep on bringing them in!
