I have a question if there are Compilations,
avalible to buy… online or in general.
  besides, ‘‘New Deutsch’‘.
Is there going to be a New Deutsch II?  :?

Well, I was in contact with a Belgian minimal synth guy some days ago, and he wispered into my ears that a compilation on vinyl with mostly Belgian minimal stuff of different bands (songs that never or hardly never made it to be put on other compilations) will be available in the next couple of months.

Now, take a guess who it was and on what label it will/would appear.

new deutsch really sucks… stupid label… Invasion Planete did great compilations (for example IP021 is incredible) and if you want to know about the Dutch 80’s you need the Trumpett Sounds LP I released + soon I will release a compilation with only comtemporary artists…

@M perhaps the label sucks but the track selection is great!

Dirk Ivens, but I thought it would be on CD not on vinyl, or are we talking a completely new compilation by the people from Genetic?

Why not try to grab a copy of the Reminiscent 3-LP-box set, released on Genetic Music ? ... and watch out for an upcoming Compilation on Anna Logue Records in summer .... 8O

in my opinion, the sound-quality is a little less to the original releases…
but a nice compilation, that’s true !

For someone in as dire a financial situation as I am the cd is as close as I can get to owning these records.

New Deutsch—- good tracks, but please don’t get me started on the clown that runs this label…

He seems to act as if he’s THE AUTHORITY when it comes to releasing such compilations….

My favorite is this ‘My Definition of House’ series…

New Deutsch did a lot for this music - in terms of spreading it.
It may be that New Deutsch was made for Elektroclash clubbers (age 19) who wanted to know what to dance to after Elektroclash, rather than the Minimal Wave experts, who have all the vinyls… (just my 2 cents!)

I have another compilation, which I got more as a “buyer’s guide” for collecting the vinyls:

Transmission 81-89, subtitled “The French Cold Wave”.

With End of Data, Guerre Froide, Martin Dupont, Opera de Nuit, Kas Prod, Norma Loy… A compilation you can play through, not many dull moments!

Otherwise, why not just click “Music” to the left on this webpage? wink

New Deutsch had some nice tracks on it, but overal I found it a not so well balanced compilation. I doubt whether there will evr be second one. It’s been years now since it came out.

Other nice compilations are:

Trumpett Sounds 12” ( Enfant Terrible)
A very good compilation that compiles Dutch minimalelectro from the early 80’s. Very limited (500 or so)!

Verschwende Deine Jugend DCD ( Atatak)
Nice compilation of early precommercial NDW. Contains key tracks by Der Plan, Pyrolator, Die Radierer etc. There is a nice very informative book by the same title as well. You must be able to read German however.

Aktion Mekanik CD (Music man)
Not many obscure tracks on this one, but it is a well balanced compilation with a good mix of early EBM and Minimalwave.

Besides that Invasion Planete has released some very good compilations of modern Minimalwave. Das Drehmoment as well. I don’t know if the Reminiscent 3LP box is still available. Ask Rhona.

If you are adventurous, then you should try ” Todesblei Salonfähig gemacht” A 12’ compilation of Minimalelectrointerpretations of wellknown 80’s metal tracks. It’s way less horrible then it sounds, but a bit harsher then most minimalwave.

I bought the 9xCD “Just Paper & Plastic” set from Trumpett and was very impressed.  Good introduction to the label.  When the money rolls in I plan on getting more material from them.

Thanks, for the Info. I read it before,
but I didn’t post back. (Forums get me crazy)
I never feel comfortable writting in them.
Concerning (New Deutsch) Although it’s a typical V.A. collection,
I really love the New Deutsch, track order.
its very well done. Only thing I would change is
the two Grauzone tracks, Eisbaer/Film 2 as
I have herd them plenty before. The song,
Ein Jahr (Es Geht Voran) is also common, but
I like that song, on there.
