Good morning,

Now this is a about a rather special release.

Who, and not what got released from Parr Highway Correctional Facility in Michigan, USA, on 13th June 2007 is Gregory John Mc Cormick aka “Itchy” of Shock Therapy, the band probably best known for their song “Hate is a 4-letter word”.

Having been sentenced to 1-20 years of prison in the year 2000 with anual revisions for release on parole for having committed the act of arson while still on parole, Itchy spent almost 7 years behind bars.

Now let’s hope the next piece of info about a release of his will be about music again. At least the first self-titled Shock Therapy album might appeal to lovers of minimal wave music. I think it’s brilliant.

For those who might be interested, there’s also pictures on the German Shock Web website showing him on the day of his release (underneath “Hinweis” in the centre):

There I was discussing the rareness of “It’s my Party” with a smile on my face, and along comes sad news.

I just read that Itchy got released again, this time from life.

More info here:

To make this news fit into the section, there’s also going to be a new Shock Therapy CD “Moon & Sun”, 250 copies made. Will be rare, that one.

Rest in peace.
