I finally got my copy of the LP by Dr. C Stein it’s great!
and the cover of the record is a picture of downtown Miami 8O
Is there a story behind that?

Miami Vice LOL

I’m sorry but I cant understand why people like this release. Bad kitschy synthpop italo style IMNSHO…

I actually cannot understand your description! Where is only one single second of Italo in this release (which for me is mainly defined by its simple 4/4 beat and an octave alternating bass sequence) ? For me this is more a kind of minimal Electronica made with the never-ever-disappoiting TB-303/TR-606 combination. I think a few vocals would have added some more action to the album, but for me the sound itself if enough.

Miami Vice

I fully agree to this.

I described it from my memory…and it was mainly the atmosphere of playboys with fast cars, in white trousers, dark sunglasses, nipping their margharita that made me associate it with italo. There is enough italo that doesnt fit those criteria you mention though, but it’s debatable if those should still be called that way…

Listening to some online fragments again I must say it’s not as bad as i remember it, but the way this record was hyped in combination with the actual music provoked a strong anti-reaction from my side.

Miami Vice? maybe but it sounds nothing like a Miami soundtrack.
The release is really good Spartak!
I don’t hear the Italo influence at all. Some songs are better than others but in overall it’s a fine release. But the cover really surprised me!  :D

I didnt say it was influenced by italo it was just the association i got of a too explicit parody. There are a few songs that are really reminiscent of the Crocket’s Theme (zeg eens a, also musica a little bit) which to me is close to italo…
The online fragments are growing on me though.  It’s more subtile then i remembered it to be…
