Uhm… You are into minimal wave and complain about a compilation not being released on CD and about it being a limited edition? Really?

The first run is 1000 copies, and most likely there will be a second run with an alternate cover.

Also pyota:

Vinyl will outlive the CD format so why bother making that request

1000 copies!! plus re-press… doesn’t sound like a collector’s item to me…

It’s not a collector’s item in the buy-it-now-or-regret-it-later sense, perhaps…
On the other hand:
Does it have to be a collector’s item for you to be interested?

I have records that have sold millions… I still like Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk to name two. If the music is good, why shouldn’t other people get to hear it?

1000-2000 copies not a collectors’ item? It depends on the size of the collector audience but I wouldn’t expect there to be too many copies left for the non-collectors out there.  The diversity of the artists’ locales and friends adds some additional sales that a single group release might not garner as well.  Hell, even if there are copies left that doesn’t make it less “collectable”?  I’m sure there are plenty of 300 release runs with many collectors and sellers sitting on multiple copies. Does that mean they pressed too many? Maybe it’s only a collectors’ item if not everyone that wants one can get one.

The collector should not be a question of quantity, but seen in term of quality (of music). The rare vinyl collection is just a pose that make common deaf. By the way, there are good bands on the WIERD catalogue.

Alan as usual speaks in tongues. Nobody really knows what he is talking about. Ever thought about moving to Delphi and be an Oracle ?

I, for one, didn’t get the bit about making common deaf. What remains of that message, to me, is that Alanbyond says it’s no use having a lot of shit records just to have a large collection. I agree with this, and have several times gone through my record collection to see if I should get rid of something.

-Speaking of which, if anyone wants Mel and Kim’s self titled album on CD, send me a PM…
