KING DUDE - Tonight’s Special Death LP
KING DUDE is one rising star in the US dark-folk scenario where acts like Cult Of Youth, Awen and Kinit Her dwell. The solo-project by Thomas Jefferson Cowgill (owner of Actual Pain clothing and previously in the black/death metal band Book Of Black Earth) has been putting out its first efforts since last year: trad-apocalyptic ballads immersed in satanic and pagan symbolism mixed the dark touch of Death In June, Sol Invictus and :Of The Wand & The Moon: with the classic folk by Dylan, Guthrie and Leonard Choen in a very personal and impressive way. Now, a few months after the 12” vinyl release of the first EP My Beloved Ghost, AVANT! is proud to give life to the LP press of Tonight’s Special Death, the King’s first full-length album, previously released as CD-r by Disaro. Ten tracks suited to accompany us through the chiller months that will follow this hot summer, when trees will lose their leaves once again in the eternal cycle of nature. This new production will show up on clear grey vinyl and will feature two previous unreleased bonus tracks (White Hands and Day Of The Night), along with insert with lyrics of course.

The second news is
FATHER MURPHY / HOW MUCH WOOD WOULD A WOODCHUCK CHUCK IF A WOODCHUCK COULD CHUCK WOOD? - split 7’’
FATHER MURPHY, is an Italian weird rock trio whose previous album “…and He told us to turn to the Sun” and the following EP “No Room for the Weak” has been released in conjuction from Aagoo Records in the US and Boring Machines in Europe. Their records has been warmly embraced by both the UK and the US press and won fans like Julian Cope, Deerhoof and Michael Gira. Aquarius Records described their music as “woozy and ominous, dreamy and dense, a glorious deathlike dirge”. The trio toured three times the United States and countless time European lands, sharing stages with Carla Bozulich, Gowns, Deerhoof, XiuXiu, The Ex and many others. While a new album is in the works for next winter, Father Murphy has just recorded a new track in between tours entitled “Jesus”, somehow inspired by the eponymous Velvet Underground song.
HMWWAWCIAWCCW? is another italian trio living in Turin which creates a dark mixture of pagan folk blended with noises, distorted vocals and ghostly choruses emerging from the background. Like a less sustained Death in June track, “Humpty Dumpty” slowly goes on a martial loop but with a dreamy element flowing through the song’s dynamics. Mr.Lynch would surely approve. This is the first public effort put on wax by the trio, who only played live until now, releasing only a handful of homemade cdr’s.
Please Note: for technical reasons the BigCartel shop is temporarily split in two sections. If you don’t find all the records you need in one, plase email us and we’ll put your order togheter for you.
Also we always suggest to get in touch to have the best shipping solution and save a little money, instead of buying direclty on BigCartel or Discogs.
