Hey Lieven, will there be any release with other tracks like Wasted Youth, Holiday in Buchenwald, alternate Radiation Dance version, and maybe some stuff not otherwise known to me?

Congrats on this and Walhalla in general by the way. Someone had to shine a light on these, so thanks!

Hello Cinico,
Thank you for your nice comments.
There are plans to make a full release because all songs from Asmodaeus are sssssssoooooooo ggggooooooodddddd grin Not sure yet about full release or 2 more songs on the next compilation.
As OB Minimax he also made some great tracks “This Charming War” “The Peeping Tom”, ...

Got it yesterday, and just wanted to chip in with my bit of praise…

Well done Lieven! Some great stuff on this record, Asmodaeus being the biggest surprise for me (well, shame on me for not knowing this music already I suppose), and it runs like an LP, not just a collection of tracks…

...and all sounding very Belgian for me, way up here in Norway! In the early eighties, we didn’t know the term “EBM”; anything hard, industrial and electronic was referred to as Belgian disco… I think this indicates the huge influence the bands from this small country had on the worldwide DIY scene.

Looking forward to the next Walhalla release!

grin

Thank you very much.
I have the songs from Asmodaeus for a very long time (maybe 4 years allready), and I will release more of them in the future.
The album gives indeed a good overview about the underground belgian wave of the eighties. I’m working allready on volume 2 with again Belgian bands.
After all, this lp is not so “irrelevant”, I sold more than 300 copies in 2 weeks and I think it will be sold out soon. So get it while you can ... en kom achteraf niet zagen met “had ik het maar geweten” ...

Top collection

Hi,
today I got this comp and I have to say that is a MUST, there are other synth compilations but none like this… the power and energy of some of the tracks, the sound of these songs are very futuristic, dark, cool… I’m very impressive with the quality of this release, this is my cup of tea.

For me is the perfect compilation and I would like to see in next issues of this great compilation (if is possible) the track Aimless Device - The Flame, song only released in cassette and I’ve never heard (and is not included in the recently Aimless Device - Coats Of Many Colours by OnderStroom Records :( (indeed the cover of this compilation is an attempt to good taste, the CD cover not do justice to the quality of the songs featured in it)

My rating is absolutely 10 points for Underground Belgian Wave Volume 1, I think this comp will become a classic in no time, in a true masterpiece.

Great work Lieven and please, please we need more stuff like this.
Thank you for release it!  :D

Hello Syndicate,
Thank you very much for your very nice comments. I wanted to make this compilation allready 4 years ago (at the same period when “The Lost Tapes” came out on Minimal Wave).
I listened to “The Flame” from Aimless Device and it’s indeed a nice track, but it won’t be easy to release this because it’s a cover of “The Flame” from Annabel Lamb.
I will do more releases in the future, please suscribe to the newsletter on my website to stay informed about future releases.

Excellent compilation.
But, i have a “problem”... Every time i listen to the record, my son (2 years old) starts crying !!!?? Only with the two first Asmodae tracks.
I tested this on different days, with same result. Strange !
Any subliminal sounds on these tracks ?
