Eight6,

“Actually, I was out of town on holidays for the majority of the time I forgot to pay Franck”

No matter what you we’re doing you saying you forgot to pay him for a month is a lie.  No one ever forgets when they owe people money.  Even more so while they are on vacation, because they are spending money when they know they owe someone else money.

“How could I say no to that deal? “

I’m not sure, but you did, and you would rather spend $1000s of dollars worth of your own time saying no to it.

“Add to that offer the fact you implied I was lying about the damage as well.”

I wonder why I would imply that you are a liar.  You can read the first paragraph again, and see what you think you are.  That, and the fact that no one has ever requested a refund based on a record being groove damage in the last 10 + years of my selling records.  And no one has ever asked for a refund, but refused to send the record back. And no one has ever denied an offered refund as well in 10 + years.

“In the end, $40.00 doesn’t buy a half decent meal so the money is long forgotten.”

Wow, I didn’t know a decent meal cost $100.  The money which is $15.00 is the premise of your whole argument and witch hunt so if it is forgotten then why would you continue to attack someone after 4 years.

“Your business practices are not forgotten, and I will take every opportunity to advertise those practices”

So will I.  They are

1.  Don’t deal with abusive people
2.  Don’t deal with people that won’t compromise

You are both of those, and every post you write about me on any forum proves it.
Try not to forget that.

Peter,

I’m sorry to tell you, but your friend will not get their money back.  And the amount of money is not going to be worth the effort it will take for them to try.
Unless you want to drive to France, and show up at his door there is not that much you can do.

@obscure : I understand your point of view saying that normal people don’t forget to pay their invoices.
Just like I say that normal people don’t forget to send expensive items that their customers paid for, instantly after they’ve got the invoice.

[quote author=“jungerbeton”]hi,

...scientronic’s name comes up frequently for the most expensive records, so of course i looked to see what his releases / feedback were/was, and two users had left negative feedback describing a ‘heavy cardboard plate’ being shipped instead of a record….
tschau

Does he really still have that habit?
That´s the way he ripped me off some 8 or 9 yrs ago and I also sent mails to other collectors describing my experiences with this sucker. It didn´t help much, cause he kept on betraying.
It´s not very likely that Peters´friend will ever see money or records unless you appear at his front door!
Cheers,
Alex

Reading this thread, I must say I don’t feel tempted to buy from scientronic, but strangely I don’t feel foxy yet either 8)

...also BIG problem with Franck Bauwens "scientronic&qu;

Hello to all minimal synth record collectors & MW Forum users!

I am also a victim of the french seller at Disogs called “scientronic”.
I have ordered the MLP Q4U for 256 Euro and paid with international bank transfer. Mr. Bauwens sent me instead of the MLP a heavy cardboard plate.
Thereupon, I wrote to him to explain me the occurrence. Mr. Bauwens blamed the french post office. The same occurrence happend to a russian buyer at Discogs; - see scientronic feedback at Discogs.
Mr. Bauwens had the effrontery to offer me straight away his “own copy” for additional 180 Euro. Of course, I have rejected his “offer” immediately!
I wanted him to refund my money back in several Emails and I am waiting for the money until today. What can we do against guys like Mr. Bauwens and against their fraudulent behaviour? Every record collector should be warned of those sellers!!!

Greetings from Germany
vromb

By the way, Mr. Bauwens offers his “own copy” Q4U MLP still at Dicogs.

Mr. Bauwens: ” I am still waiting for my money in amount of 256 Euro!”

Assuming that what you said in your email is true (and if you lied about it, shame on you wink),

Fraud is illegal in most countries. If everyone who got a piece of cardboard instead of an LP, reported it to the police, it is not unlikely that websites that allow people to list product would have to cancel such a seller’s account. Discogs, GEMM, MusicStack, eBay and all such sites rely on people. If their sellers cannot be trusted, the websites may suffer loss of custom (although if I remember the Twilight Ritual thread correctly, eBay at least doesn’t seem too nervous about this), which they will not want to do.

And even eBay have examples to show that if they think they earn the trust of their customers by cancelling someone’s account, they do so.

atmosferazentral

Hello everybody, i had also a transaction with “scientronic” a year ago and got a fake/repress, but after a hot discussion i sent it back and got another record with the same price level!
After many years of collecting records meanwhile it is so boring to buy rare/expensive items, because such dealers on the marketplace!
I had a very bad experience with the seller atmosferazentral, he offers a V/A - Hours LP through discogs and i got it without the important watch, in his opinion he must not mentioned “with the clock” but in my opinion he must mention it when it is not included, because the price was really high (75 EUR). I was so stupid and made the deal outside discogs because he did a free shipping, so i could not left neg. feedback…

It seems there are many bootlegs out, i think that we should do a topic with a list, remarking the differences with the original copy

from what i know Transparent Illusion, Van Kaye + Ignit and Twilight Ritual have a bootleg version
