I think the concert in Berlin was great. A bit of travel might be well worth the effort.

If you mean the first full length (Wet Skin and Curious Eye), that shouldn’t be that hard to find. The mini-lp (Party Hate) ... well that’s another story. I have both but I couldn’t ever part with them.

If you just want to hear the music though, I could hook you up with some mp3s.

Well, for Euro 49.- the copy on Discogs would be yours.

Does an EBM cover qualify for the “Favourite Minimal Sleeves” thread, BTW? I think the one of Party Hate rocks…

A couple of other that are worth mentioning: Severed Heads ( did release several EBM outings) and Workforce ( Sheffield again).

Canada/US:

Skinny Puppy was excellent up to , hm well, Censor was the first nasty record imho. All the records before contain excellent tracks. My faves: First Aid, Three Blind Mice, Addiction.

Front Line Assembly’s first recordings (two tapes and four LPs) are excellent, get them! Tracks like Eternal, All you do, Certain Style, Lurid Sensation are soooo gothic.

Psyche - is this EBM - they are sitting between Synth Pop, Minimal Synth and EBM I think. Great tracks everywhere. Buy all records until 1990 and check out the later if you like his voice.

Delerium, Data Bank A - not really EBM but recommended.

Batz without Flesh - excellent! If you like dak haunting stuff.
Off Tanz Victims - EBM-Industrial hybrid. Nice.

and check out the tape label GPC Productions

Stereo Taxic Device.it’s between EBM and Death-Rock.

Nope, I’m not ready to let this thread die just yet wink

I dug out an old EBM compilation tape that a pal of mine recorded to me in 1993 (4?), and there’s a lot of “not quite EBM but worth a mention” stuff on it…

Typically, re my “formulaic” jibe earlier this thread, the stuff I remember is the stuff that really isn’t EBM. Dance Or Die, anyone?

Let’s see, do you remember when And One were tough guys? “Over There”?

Project Pitchfork, were they even mentioned before? Syntec, Simbolo, a remix of an Armageddon Dildos track, GGFH, Bigod 20,2nd Communication, Invincible Spirit, Scapa Flow, Cultivated Bimbo…

Should we try to make a sort of “Beginners Guide” soon? Could you do me a list of 15 records or CDs that are must-haves of the genre?

stumbling through records earlier, found the derrick may remix of nitzer ebb’s ‘shame’
kind of underwhelming track raspberry

a ‘beginners guide to tolerable ebm’ sounds like a fun project, heh…

I agree with all the above! I’ll add:

Tribantura - Lack of Sense
The Invincible Limit (Invincible Spirit)

And Advanced Art if that wasn’t already mentioned.
